Chester County Intake Diversion Program Final Report

Publication year: 2012  |  Cataloged on: Aug 26, 2013

In 2009, with support from Models for Change, Chester County, Pennsylvania developed an Intake Diversion Program. The National Center for Juvenile Justice collaborated with other experts in the field of juvenile justice including the Juvenile Law Center (JLC), the Council of Juvenile Court Administrators (CJCA), and the National Youth Screening & Assessment Project (NYSAP) to assist the Chester County Juvenile Probation in their diversion efforts. A data-driven protocol was developed with additional insight from probation practitioners and community stakeholders to divert eligible youth from formal processing into appropriate treatment services. This report describes the development of the Intake Diversion Program, as well as its process and intermediate outcomes.
